Fast method of acquiring body size of short-tail Han sheep based on lidar
The body size parameter of livestock is an important criteria for measuring their growth, development and production performance, and play an important role in genetic breeding and quality upgrading. In order to meet the needs of large-scale sheep breeding farms for non-contact and rapid acquisition of the body size of small-tail Han sheep,in the experiment,a method based on lidar cloud was used to measure the body size parameters of small-tail Han sheep.A device that could quickly and automatically obtain the body size parameters of small-tail Han sheep was designed and developed, and a set of fast automatic acquisition algorithm for small-tailed Han sheep body size was developed. The algorithm fuseed straight-through filtering, voxel grid filtering, statistical filtering and gaussian filtering, and obtained the point cloud projection profile of the sheep's back after point cloud projection and point cloud boundary extraction, then useed the cubic b-spline curve to fit the contour curve, finally designed a method to quickly locate the body size measurement feature points according to the change of the contour curve, and quickly and automatically obtained the body height, hip height, body oblique length and chest width of the small-tail Han sheep. The results showed that the average time to measure the body size of a sheep was 5.1 s,and the average relative errors in the body height, the body oblique length, the hip height and the chest width between the measured values and the manual measurement were 2.23%,6.40%,6.15%and 2.14%,respectively.The results indicated that this equipment and algorithm could meet the accuracy requirements of rapid automatic measurement of sheep body size without contact.
