Objective:To investigate the effect of acupoint stimulation on joint muscle strength in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods 126 patients with knee osteoarthritis in hospital were selected for the study from July 2017 to May 2022.According to the simple random blind selection method, they were divided into study group(63 cases)and control group(63 cases).Serological indexes[matrix metalloproteinase-3(MMP-3),osteoprotestor(OPG),interleukin-1 β(IL-1 β)],knee muscle strength[maximum contractile muscle strength of flexor and extentor muscles(PT),muscle work efficiency power(AP)]and knee motor function(KOOS score)were compared before treatment and 21 days after treatment. Results After 21 days of treatment, symptoms and pain dimension scores of MMP-3,IL-1 β and KOOS scores were decreased in the study group and the control group, but lower in the study group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).OPG,PT,AP,KOOS scores of flexor and extentor muscle in the study group and the control group were higher than those in the study group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupoint stimulation therapy for knee osteoarthritis can relieve knee pain, reduce joint inflammation, regulate bone metabolism of knee joint, improve knee joint activity and promote the recovery of knee joint muscle strength.
