OBJECTIVE:To investigate the clinical effect of Tongjiao cream in the treatment of chronic rhinitis with the evidence of heat in the lung meridian and congestion of the nasal orifices.METHODS:Sixty patients with chronic rhinitis due to heat in the lung meridian and congestion of the nasal orifices who were treated in Nanping People's Hospital from August 1,2020 to July 31,2022 were selected and divided into observation group and control group using the random number table method,with 30 cases each.The total efficiency of treatment,nasal mucous membrane cilia clearance function index and nasal sinus outcome test scale-20(SNOT-20)score were compared between the two groups.RESULTS:The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group(93.33％)was higher than that in the control group(73.33％)(P＜0.05).Before treatment,the differences in glycogen clearance time(SCT),mucus cilia clearance rate(MTR)and cilia clearance rate(MCC)between the two groups were not significant(P＞0.05);after treatment,SCT decreased in both groups,with the observation group being lower than the control group(P＜0.05),and MTR and MCC increased,with the observation group being higher than the control group(P＜0.05).Before treatment,the difference between the SNOT-20 scores of the two groups was not significant(P＞0.05);after treatment,the scores of the two groups were reduced,and the observation group was lower than the control group(P＜0.05).CONCLUSION:Tongkang Ointment is effective in treating chronic rhinitis with heat in the lung meridian and congestion of the nasal orifices,and can effectively enhance the cilia clearance function of the nasal mucosa and improve the overall treatment quality.
