Objective:To explore the effect of acupoint application nursing combined with mechanical sputum excretion on sputum excretion in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease of phlegm heat stagnation type.Method:A study was conducted on 66 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease of phlegm heat stagnation type admitted to our hospital from September 2022 to March 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into a control group and an observation group,with 33 cases in each group.The control group was treated with a combination of routine nursing and mechanical sputum ejection,while the observation group was treated with acupoint application nursing combined with mechanical sputum ejection on the basis of the control group.All patients were treated for 3 months,and the sputum output,respiratory rate,partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)levels,and partial pressure of blood oxygen(PaO2)levels were compared between the two groups.Result Before the intervention,there was no significant difference in sputum output,respiratory rate,PaCO2,and PaO2 levels between the two groups(P＞0.05);after 3 days of intervention,the sputum output of both groups increased,and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05);after 7 days of intervention,the sputum output of the two groups decreased,but the sputum output in the front row of the intervention still increased,the sputum output of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group,and the difference in sputum output between the two groups at different intervention times was statistically significant(P＜0.05);after 7 days of intervention,the respiratory rate and PaCO2 levels in both groups decreased,but the observation group was significantly lower than the control group,the PaO2 levels in both groups increased,but the observation group was higher than the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The treatment method of acupoint application nursing combined with mechanical sputum drainage is helpful for effectively expelling phlegm,improving blood gas indicators,and improving patient prognosis in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease of phlegm heat stagnation type,the clinical application is convenient,cost-effective,and non-invasive,and it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
