Objective:To explore the effect of Sophora flavescens injection on traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and liver function after hepatic artery chemoembolization(TACE)for primary liver cancer and liver metastasis.Method:82 patients with primary liver cancer and liver metastasis treated in our hospital from January 2019 to December 2022 after TACE were selected as the study subjects.82 patients were divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 41 patients in each group. The control group was only given symptomatic support treatment, while the observation group was given 20mL of compound Sophora flavescens injection and 250ml of physiological saline for intravenous drip treatment on the basis of symptomatic support treatment, once a day for a week as a course of treatment. The traditional Chinese medicine symptoms of liver pain, abdominal distension, fatigue, anorexia score, liver function indicators such as alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)levels and albumin(ALb)levels in two groups of patients before and after treatment were compared, and the incidence of adverse reactions(nausea, vomiting, rash, dizziness, and abdominal pain)between the two groups of patients were compared.Result:On the first day before surgery, the levels of ALT,AST,and ALb in both groups of patients were higher than before treatment(P<0.05);the levels of ALT and AST in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, while the levels of ALb were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The TCM syndrome scores of both groups were lower at 2 weeks after surgery than at 1 day before surgery, and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05);the frequency of liver pain, fatigue, poor appetite, and abdominal distension in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 4.87%,which was significantly lower than 36.52%in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compound Sophora flavescens injection can effectively enhance liver function, reduce the incidence of postoperative adverse reactions, and improve the quality of life of patients with primary liver cancer and liver metastasis after TACE surgery, which is worth promoting and applying in clinical practice.
