The aim of this study is to explore the effect of sludge dewatering after conditioning and modi-fication of papermaking wastewater sludge.Using paper mill sludge samples, the basic characteristics were analyzed, and the Fenton oxidation combined with calcium oxide conditioning method was used to optimize the sludge dewatering performance. The optimal conditioning conditions are an initial pH of 3.0,and the dosage of Fe2+and H2O2 is 30 mg/gDS each. After conditioning and modification, the specific resistance(SRF)of the sludge was significantly reduced, the moisture content of the sludge cake was reduced, and the concentration of proteins and polysaccharides in the extracellular polymer(EPS)changed significantly, resulting in a significant change in the composition of organic matter.Infrared spectroscopy analysis further confirmed the changes in the organic structure of sludge, and Fenton com-bined with calcium oxide conditioning can effectively improve the dewatering performance of papermak-ing sludge.
