Effect of non-pharmacological interventions on burden for caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease:an overview of systematic reviews
Objective To evaluate the systematic reviews(SRs)/meta-analysis of the effect of non-pharmacological interventions on burden for caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease,so as to provide references for alleviating caregiver burden.Methods SRs/meta-analysis on the effect of non-pharmacological interventions on burden for caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease were searched by computer from databases in domestic and overseas,the related articles were screened and data were extracted,and the methodologi-cal quality and evidence quality of included articles were evaluated.Results A total of 15 SRs/meta-analysis were included,and the methodological quality of 2 articles were medium,5 articles were low and the other 8 were critically low.Twenty-one pieces of evi-dence were summarized,the quality of 7 pieces of them were medium,7 pieces were low,and the other 7 were extremely low.The results showed that,multi-component intervention,internet-based intervention measures,psychological education,health educa-tion,and case management had positive effects on caregiver burden.Conclusion Non-pharmacological interventions can relieve care-giver burden to some extent.However,the methodological quality and evidence quality of the included SRs/meta-analysis are low,so the evidence should be used carefully.
