Effect of case management on self-management efficacy and complications in pa-tients with thyroid associated ophthalmopathy
Objective To explore the impact of case management model on self-management efficacy and complications in patients with thyroid associated ophthalmopathy, and to promote patients'recovery. Methods A total of 282 patients with thyroid associated ophthalmopathy were divided into a control group(n=136)and an observation group(n=146)according to admission time. The control group received routine ophthalmologic care, while the observation group received the case management model in addition to routine care.Self-management efficacy and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups before and 1,3 months after the intervention. Results After 3 months of intervention, the self-management efficacy score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the incidence of incision infection and exposure keratitis was significant-ly lower than that of the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion The application of the case management model can enhance the self-management efficacy of patients with thyroid associated ophthalmopathy and reduce the incidence of complications.
