Best evidence summary of prevention and nursing of pin site infection in patients with closed fracture
Objective To summarize the relevant evidence of prevention and nursing measures for pin site infection in closed fracture patients undergoing external fixation,so as to provide reliable evidence for clinical nurses implementing pin site care.Methods The PubMed,Medline,Embase,Cochrane Library databases,and CNKI,Wanfang Data,and VIP were searched for literature on pre-vention and nursing of pin site infection in patients with closed fractures.The publication of the literature was from January,2010 to January,2024.Results A total of 14 articles were included,consisting of 2 guidelines,8 systematic reviews and 4 randomized controlled trials.Totally 21 pieces of evidence were summarized and factored into 7 aspects:environment,disinfectant,dressing selection,disinfection techniques,disinfection frequency,position placement,and health education.Conclusion The summarized evidence on prevention and nursing of pin site infection in closed fracture patients undergoing external fixation is comprehensive.Clinical nursing staff should promote the transformation of the evidence on pin site care to clinical practice according to the actual situation of patients,so as to reduce pin site infectionrate in closed fracture patients undergoing external fixation.
