Reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Information Security Attitude Questionnaire
Objective To translate the Information Security Attitude Questionnaire(ISA-Q)into simplified Chinese, and to assess its reliability and validity. Methods Following Beaton's guidelines for the process of cross-cultural adaptation of self-report mea-sures,the Chinese version of the ISA-Q was developed through translation,synthesis,back-translation,expert committee review,cross-cultural adaptation, and a pilot survey.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 959 nurses from 4 tertiary hospitals to evaluate the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. Results Exploratory factor analysis identified six factors with eigenvalue of more than 1,which could explain 64.222%of the total variance. These factors were named as:environmental control, maintaining facility stability, restricting access to information, work systematicity, promoting professional responsibility, and continuous edu-cation.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the 30-item six-factor structure of the questionnaire fitted well to the dataset(x2/df=1.219,RMSEA=0.022,AGFI=0.921,GFI=0.934,NFI=0.939,CFI=0.988,TLI=0.987).The item-level content validity index ranged from 0.846 to 1.000,and the scale-level content validity index was 0.986.The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.870,the test-retest reliability was 0.884,and the split-half reliability was 0.781.Conclusion The Chinese version of the ISA-Q demonstrates good reliability and validity, and can be used to assess the attitudes of Chinese nurses toward information security.
