Level and factors associated with self-regulatory fatigue among pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus
Objective To describe the level and influencing factors of self-regulatory fatigue among pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM),and to provide reference for targeted intervention. Methods A total of 318 pregnant women with GDM were investigated using a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Self-regulatory Fatigue Scale, the General Self-efficacy Scale, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and the Social Support Rating Scale. Results The sample scored(50.44±8.23)for self-regulatory fatigue.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that whether work or home, average monthly household income per capita, weeks of pregnancy,self-efficacy,resilience and social support were factors affecting self-regulatory fatigue(all P<0.05),which could explain 54.1%of the total variance. Conclusion Pregnant women with GDM report high level of self-regulatory fatigue.Medi-cal staff should identify high-risk women, and pay more attention to those who attend work, those with low family income and with ≥28 weeks of pregnancy.Interventions should be carried out to improve their self-efficacy,resilience and social support,in an effort to alleviate their self-regulatory fatigue.
