Translation and evaluation of the reliability and validity of the Questionnaire on Quality of Life for Lower Extremity Arteriosclerosis Obliterans
Objective To translate the Questionnaire on Quality of Life with Peripheral Artery Disease(QOLPAD)into Chinese and assess its psychometric properties. Methods With the express permission and authorization of the original au-thors,the QOLPAD was meticulously translated, rigorously back-translated,culturally adapted, and pre-tested in accordance with the Brislin model to develop the Questionnaire on Quality of Life for Lower Extremity Arteriosclerosis Obliterans(LEAO-QOL).Convenience sampling was used to select 135 patients with lower limb atherosclerosis occlusion from Henan Provincial Peoples Hospital was surveyed between August 2022 and May 2023 to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of LEAO-QOL.Results The LEAO-QOL comprised 6 dimensions and 12 items. The content validity index was 0.98.Internal consistency was supported by a Cronbach's α coefficient of 0.899,the Cronbach's a coefficient for each di-mension ranged from 0.637 to 0.884.Test-retest reliability was 0.805,and test-retest reliability was 0.696.Construct validi-ty-0.712(P<0.01).Exploratory factor analysis yielded 6 factors, with a cumulative variance of 87.332%.Conclusion The LEAO-QOL demonstrates robust reliability and validity.making it a suitable instrument for assessing the quality of life in patients with lower extremity atherosclerosis occlusive disease.
