A Geometry-based Algorithm for Estimating the Height of Aerial Targets in a Network of Spaceborne Detection Radars
Spaceborne detection radars have such advantages as global coverage,all-weather,all-day operation capability, invulnerability, etc.,and have great potential in the early warning and defense system. As the error of the pitch angle of a single spaceborne radar is too large,it does not have the a-bility to estimate the height of aerial targets;however, accurate target height estimation is of great sig-nificance to improve target positioning accuracy and threat evaluation capabilities. The networking of multiple spaceborne detection radars is considered, and a geometry-based aerial target height estima-tion method is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulations. In addi-tion,the differences in the estimation accuracy of target heights at different positions in the radar de-tection area are compared through simulation, providing technical support for the design of networked radar systems.
