A Cluster Routing Protocol Based on Energy and Controllable Cluster Size
The improved algorithm LEACH-EKN based on the LEACH protocol is proposed for industrial wireless sensor networks. The concept of"strong node"is presented to screen out the nodes with more residual energy; The number of clusters is controlled by the"adaptive optimal number of clus-ter heads",and finally,by the"cluster head potential factor"to make the optimal radius of the clusters and the density of member nodes in the radius higher and closer to the base station has a higher probabil-ity of being elected as cluster head.Based on the above aspects,a new threshold formula is proposed. The experimental results show that the network lifecycle of LEACH-EKN is improved by 43%and 21%,respectively,while the number of cluster heads is reduced by 53%and 50%compared to that of LEACH and LEACH-E.
