Renewal strategy of traditional villages under background of centralized contiguous protection—A case study of Shangzhuang Village,Jixi County,Anhui Province
The traditional villages embody the profound tapestry of historical memory, the bountiful wisdom of architectural craftsmanship, and the distinctive regional cultural characteristics—a living testament to the en-during legacy of the Chinese nation. For an extended period, the safeguarding study on traditional villages has primarily focused on the structure, aesthetic, and environmental aspects of individual villages, neglecting the in-tegration of regional comprehensive recognition of their significance and the implementation of cross-village protective measures.Based on the pioneering work of the Demonstrative County for the Central and Consecutive Protection of Traditional Villages in Jixi County,a comprehensive analysis is conducted from the county per-spective,delving into four aspects:natural environment, historical culture, architectural style, and village type. This approach proposes an"start-inherit-transformation-integration"strategy that enhances the optimization of ecological environmental conditions, integrates themes of centralized protection, highlights architectural distinc-tive qualities, and combines the spatial diversity of villages. It seeks an effective path for village units to collab-orate with regions in a shared development, with the ultimate aim of providing reference for the growth of other traditional villages.
