Dynamic compressive mechanical properties of porous sandstone specimens corroded by weak acids
To investigate the effect of corrosion duration on the dynamic characteristics of porous sandstone specimens,a weak acid solution with a pH value of 5 was used to corrode the specimens for different durations of 1,3,5,7,14,21 and 28 days. The basic physical parameters were tested, and the dynamic mechanical pa-rameters were obtained using a Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(SHPB)test device for impact compression tests. The results indicate that the corrosion of the porous sandstone specimens by the weak acid solution leads to mass loss, volume expansion, and a decrease in density, and these degradation effects intensify with increas-ing time;with the increase in corrosion duration, the dynamic stress-strain curves of the porous sandstone speci-mens show a gradual flattening of the plastic deformation stage, indicating a reduction in brittleness and an en-hancement in ductility;the dynamic compressive strength, dynamic elastic modulus, and average strain rate of the porous sandstone specimens deteriorate with increased corrosion time.
