Orthotopic detaenial sigmoid neobladder reconstruction and preservation of reproductive function:a case report and literature review
Objective:To investigate the preliminary outcomes of orthotopic sigmoid neobladder reconstruction with total decortication, while preserving reproductive function. Methods:A case involving orthotopic detaenial sigmoid neobladder and preservation of reproductive function was retrospectively analyzed.Relevant literature was reviewed to consolidate clinical experiences.Resu1ts:The patient underwent transurethral prostatic plasma resection in addition to laparoscopic radical cystectomy and orthotopic detaenial sigmoid neobladder reconstruction. The surgery included capsular preservation of the prostate and bilateral seminal vesicles.Postoperative follow-up over 10 months showed no tumor metastasis.Postoperative examinations indicated satisfactory urinary and sexual function.Conc1usion:With rigorous preoperative screening, this surgical technique significantly enhances the quality of life for male bladder cancer patients desiring to retain reproductive function.However,large-scale randomized controlled trials and long-term follow-up are necessary to further substantiate these findings.
