Research progress on endocrine therapy for prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in elderly men.When diagnosed,it is often in the late stage and accompanied by metastasis,seriously threatening physical and mental health and affecting quality of life.The purpose of endocrine therapy is to reduce androgen levels to inhibit the proliferation of prostate cancer cells,which is an important treatment for hormone sensitive prostate cancer.Even in the castration resistance stage,the use of endocrine drugs to combat androgens still has certain clinical value.This article reviews the progress of endocrine drug therapy for prostate cancer,elaborating on the clinical application of endocrine drugs from different classifications,as well as the efficacy and advantages of their combination with surgery,radiotherapy,chemotherapy,and traditional Chinese medicine treatment.It also points out some existing problems in the current stage,in order to provide some reference for clinical selection of endocrine drugs.
