Firstly,this paper analyzed the origin of evolutionary economic geography and discriminated the concepts between it and new classical economic geography as well as institutional economic geography.Then,the research fields of evolutionary economic geography were discussed,such as enterprise evolution and cluster,network evolution and geography,institution and enterprise routine,regional development and flexibility,and path dependence and industrial association.Finally,in combination with the enterprise data at the China municipal level,the relationship between the industrial association and industrial structural evolution was explored via the empirical analysis.It is concluded that the regional industrial development in China shows the path dependence,and the industry association plays a significant role in the industrial enter and exit.These researches can provide an important reference for the relevant government departments in China to attract the foreign investment.
