By studying the three texts of Report on the Investigation of Hunan Farmers'Movement,On the New Stage and On New Democracy from the perspective of intertextuality,it can be found that during the New Democratic Revolution,Mao Zedong's view of traditional culture has a continuous historical evolution process,in which his application of historical materialism has gradually become mature.Mao Zedong's application of histori-cal materialism to the analysis of farmers'cultural problems in the Report on the Investigation of Hunan Farmers'Movement was his initial attempt to use Marxist methods to analyze cultural problems.The basic attitude to tradi-tional culture proposed in On the New Stage showed that his view of traditional culture becameing mature.In the ar-ticle On New Democracy,Mao Zedong made a lot of discussions on cultural issues,which showed that his view of traditional culture had reached maturity.
