Work-study Program and Party Founding Activities of Hunan Youth in France During the May Fourth Period:A Cases Study of Students from Hunan First Normal School
Hunan youth represented by Cai Hesen,Xiang Jingyu,Li Weihan,Li Lisan,Luo Xuezan,Zhang Kundi,Li Fuchun,Cai Chang and Xiao San,actively sought the path"to transform China and the world",and pro-moted the work-study movement in France to the direction of the Russian Revolution in the May Fourth Movement.Cai Hesen first proposed the founding of Party and named it"the Communist Party of China".He suggested to change the name of"Work-study World Society",the branch of Xinmin Society in France to"Young Communist Party".Due to their activities in France,Mao Zedong commented that they were the founders of the early organiza-tion of the Communist Party of China abroad,just like the founders at home.
