A Comparative Study of the Translations of Marxism by Zhao Bizhen and Li Da
Marxism was introduced to China through three main paths,which are from Europe,Japan,and Rus-sia.Zhao Bizhen and Li Da were key figures in translating Marxism through the Japanese path.They are the most prominent representatives of different eras in the translation of Marxism.Zhao Bizhen was the first person to trans-late Marxism into Chinese,while Li Da systematically translated Marxism,surpassing Zhao Bizhen in terms of vol-ume.Zhao Bizhen translated philosophy,politics,history and personalities,as well as soeialist theory while Li Da primarily focused on Marxist theory.Zhao Bizhen had a colorful life experience,while Li Da dedicated his life to the study and dissemination of Marxism,becoming a prolific Marxist theorist.
