Review on the Advance of Interdisciplinary Thematic Learning over Project-based Learning
Interdisciplinary thematic learning is a new requirement put forward in the Compulsory Education Curriculum Implementation Measures(2022 Edition),and it is also a formal affirmation of the previous multi-form interdisciplinary practice attempts.In practice,interdisciplinary thematic learning often takes the form of integrated hands-on activity courses or project-based learning,and so many teachers equate the two without any change with the project-based learning.However,at the theoretical level,interdisciplinary thematic learning has many respects that go beyond project-based learning and integrated hands-on activities,which not only emphasizes knowledge learning,but also focuses on knowledge application.At the same time,it is more systematic,taking into account the subject-specific curriculum and knowledge teaching in an innovative format.If we want to implement the concept of interdisciplinary thematic learning,on the one hand,we need to establish the theme through multidisciplinary teaching and research,and organize the theme through teaching resources;On the other hand,the practice of inter-disciplinary thematic learning should be promoted through the"Family-School-Community"multiple linkage and the integration of digital resources.
