Concepts,Characteristics,and Contemporary Implications of Primary School Textbook Illustrations in the Republic of China Period
The illustrations of textbooks in the Republic of China period reflect the unique image concepts and characteristics of the times.Guided by the concepts of emphasizing students'interests,advocating pragmatism,and manifesting national sentiment,textbook illustrations have shown important features such as flexible and varied il-lustration arrangements,aesthetically diversified illustration styles,and correct and innovative illustration contents.By exploring the illustrations in primary school textbooks during the Republic of China,we can provide a mirror for the current illustrations in primary school textbooks:focusing on the images of textbooks to inspire wisdom and cultivate beauty,and promoting the children's interest in illustration;integrating the needs of the individual and the society,and realizing the practicability of illustration;and advocating the exhalation of the Chinese culture to pro-mote the innovativeness of the design of illustrations.
