Analysis of Synergistic Effect Between Openness and Economic Polarization
Taking 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from 2016 to 2020 as examples, the overall degree of openness and economic polarization of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,as well as the contribution degree of each city to the regional economic polarization effect, were measured. The unit root test, spatial autocorrelation and other econometric models were used to analyze the synergistic effect of openness on urban and regional economic polarization. This paper explores the influence of the change of openness to the outside world on the economic polarization of cities and regions, and concludes that there is a long-term stable equilibrium relationship between the regional openness to the outside world and the degree of economic polarization in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, but the influence of regional openness to the outside world on the economic polarization effect lacks a stable consistent level. There is a co-integration relationship and a positive correlation between the opening degree of cities in the Yangtze River Delta and their economic polarization effect;that is,as the opening degree of cities increases,so does the economic polarization effect.Granger causality test shows that regional level openness of Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration is not the Granger cause of the economic polarization effect, but the economic polarization effect is the Granger cause of openness. The city level of openness to the outside world is the Granger cause of economic polarization contribution, but the city's economic polarization contribution is not the Granger cause of the opening to the outside world.
