Epidemiological Investigation and Analysis of Sports Injuries Among Officers and Soldiers of A Plateau-based Army
Objective To investigate the regularity of outbreak and characteristics of common sports injuries among officers and soldiers at a plateau unit,to analyze the risk factors and propose prevention,so as to strengthen preventive measures and reduce the incidence of sports injuries and provide a reference for the security work of troops in the plateau. Methods A total of 1094 people were selected from a plateau based unit as study subjects by overall sampling method.Data were collected by means of the epidemiological questionnaire, and statistical analysis was performed on the age, body mass index(BMI),educational level, personnel category, whether smoke and the altitude of the station of the study sub-jects.Results A total of 1063 valid questionnaires(97.17%)was collected,of which 308 cases(28.97%)had sports in-juries.The analysis of injury factors showed that the incidence of sports injuries of the officers and soldiers stationed at the altitude less than 3000 m was lower than that of the officers and soldiers stationed at the altitude of 3000-4500 m and more than 4500 m(all P<0.01);the incidence of sports injuries in those who performed targeted warm-up and without body fatigue was significantly lower than those who did not perform targeted warm-up and with body fatigue(all P<0.01).The analysis of influencing factors of disease course showed that the proportion of patients with sports injuries course longer than 1 month who had high school or above education,no smoking and seeking medical treatment after sports injuries was significantly lower than those of patients with junior high school or below education, smoke and didn't seek medical treatment(P<0.05);there was a statistically significant difference in the pro-portion of officers and soldiers stationed at different alti-tudes with the course of sports injuries longer than 1 month(P<0.05),the lowest rate of duration of sports injury over 1 month was found less than 3000 m altitude, and the highest rate of duration of sports injury over 1 month was found at 4500 m altitude(all P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of sports injuries is high in a unit stationed in plateau. Before and after entering the plateau,it is recommended that combined with the plateau environment and hard-ware conditions, targeted intervention measures such as prevention and control knowledge education, organization of adaptive training and warm-up before exercise should be carried out;after the occurrence of sports injuries, they can be treated reasonably and effectively,if necessary, they can be transferred and transported in time,so as to minimize the oc-currence of sports injuries and its adverse effects, and improve the combat effectiveness of the troops.
