Disease Spectrum Characteristics of Border Troops in A Certain Area of Tibet and Countermeasures for Supporting the De-ployment of Medical Personnel
Objective To investigate the disease types of officers and soldiers in a border defense force in Nyingchi region of Tibet,analyze the composition characteristics of different specialties and the distribution of common diseases at different time,so as to provide reference for optimizing the allocation of medical and health resources for plateau frontier defense forces.Methods The relevant clinical information of officers and soldiers of a border force in Nyingchi region who visited the health clnic and author's hospital helped visiting medical team from January 2019 to December 2020 were analyzed,and the clinical data were categorized according to treatment condition of internal medicine,surgery and special-ty.Results A total of 932 officers and soldiers were treated,including 705 cases that met the requirements.From 2019 to 2020,the top 6 system diseases were upper respiratory tract infection,acute and chronic inflammation of the digestive system,sleep disorders,injury and poisoning,musculoskeletal system diseases and circulatory system diseases in the frontier troops of Nyingchi region of Tibet.The most common diseases in internal medicine were respiratory tract infection,acute and chronic in-flammation of digestive system and sleep disorders,accounting for 89.68％(443/494)of all internal medicine diseases.Acute gastroenteritis was the main disease in diges-tive system diseases,and the peak time of the incidence was July,August and September in summer;the incidence of re-spiratory diseases peaked in March,April and October,No-vember,when spring,summer and autumn,winter alterna-ted.The most common surgical diseases were orthopedic diseases and general surgery diseases,accounting for 80.28％(114/142)of all surgical diseases.The incidence of orthopedic diseases in May,June,July,August and September accounted for 78.57％(44/56)of the total number of orthopedic diseases in the whole year,while the incidence of general surgery diseases in March,June,July,August and September accounted for 79.31％(46/58)of the total number of general surgery diseases in the whole year.The top 3 specialized diseases were dermatology,stomatology and ear,nose and throat diseases.Solar dermatitis was the main component of skin diseases,which was the highest in August and September;oral diseases were mainly oral mucosal ul-cers and periodontal diseases;the incidence of otolaryngology diseases was higher from January to April.Conclusion The disea-ses of the respiratory system,digestive system,orthopedics,general surgery,dermatology and stomatology are the most common among the resident border defense officers and soldiers in Nyingchi region.The incidence patterns of various dis-eases are closely related to altitude and seasonal changes.In the future,it is suggested that the allocation of medical forces and the deployment of mainland counterpart assistance forces can be based on this to more accurately and efficiently serve high-altitude border defense officers and soldiers.
