Reasearch on the Relationship Between Psychological Stress,Emotion Regulation Strategies and Work Engagement of the Ser-vicemen on Islands and Reefs
Objective To understand and analyze the current situation and relationship of psychological stress,e-motion regulation strategies and work engagement with the servicemen on islands and reefs.Methods From May to June 2023,general information questionnaire,psychological stress self-evaluation test(PEST),utrecht work engagement scale-9(UWES-9)and emotion regulation questionnaire(ERQ)were used to conduct surveys among the servicemen on islands and reefs,the collection of UWES-9 scores and ERQ,PEST scores were analyzed by Pearson correlation and the influence factors of UWES-9 score were analyzed by multiple linear stepwise regression.Results A total of 1811 valid questionnaires were collected.The score of UWES-9 was(39.42±14.31)and the score of PEST was(50.00±10.00).The differences of PEST scores of servicemen on islands and reefs with different gender,education background and marital status were statistically significant(P<0.05),and the cognitive rerating scores of ERQ between sevicesmen whether they were only children were statistically significant(P<0.05).Linear regression analysis showed that psychological stress and expression suppression negatively predict work engagement,while cognitive reappraisal positively predicts work en-gagement(P<0.001).Conclusion The servicemen on islands and reefs represent a relatively high level of work engage-ment and face a certain level of psychological stress.Promoting their rational emotional release and positive cognition can better improve their level of work engagement.
