Characteristics and Clinical Application of Fresenius COM.TEC and Spectra OPTIA in Collection of Peripheral Blood Hema-topoietic Stem Cells
Objective To compare the collection efficiency, collection characteristics, and follow-up effects of Fre-senius COM.TEC and Spectra OPTIA blood cell separators in the collection of peripheral blood hematopoietic stem cells from donors. Methods A total of 217 healthy donors who received peripheral blood hematopoietic stem cell collection in author's hospital from March 2020 to October 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, including blood routine before and after the collection, electrolyte detection, relevant parameters during the collection, adverse reactions, mononuclear cell num-ber and CD34+cell number in the collection. Results There were no significant differences between the two instruments in blood routine and electrolyte indexes of donors, circulating blood volume during collection, collection efficiency,num-ber of mononuclear cells and CD34+cells,and the incidence of adverse reactions during and after collection(P>0.05),but Fresenius COM.TEC used less blood maintenance fluid than that of Spectra OPTIA(P<0.05).In addition, the total number of white blood cells, the number of red blood cells, the specific volume of red blood cells, the number of platelet and the number of neutrophil in the products of Fresenius COM.TEC were significantly higher than those of Spectra OP-TIA(all P<0.05).Conclusion Both Fresenius COM.TEC and Spectra OPTIA blood cell separators can effectively and safely complete the collection of peripheral blood hematopoietic stem cells. In practical application, the appropriate ma-chine or mobilization scheme can be selected according to the specific characteristics of the donors to achieve the best col-lection effect.
