Comparison of the Effects of Different Cooling Methods for Pressure Steam Sterilization Dressing Packs
Objective To explore the influence of cooling method on the incidence of wet packs and cooling temper-ature of the outer surface after pressure steam sterilization of dressing packs in disinfection and supply centers, and pro-vide a reference basis for the establishment of a standardized operation process in practical work. Methods A total of 600 experimental dressing packets with weight of 3-5 kg and volume ≤30 cm× 30 cm× 50 cm were randomly divided into 4 groups:group A(cooling out of the cabin immediately after sterilization),group B(not opening the hatch after steriliza-tion,drying in the cabin for 15 min before leaving the cabin for cooling),group C(opening the hatch 2-5 cm after sterili-zation,drying in the cabin for 15 min before leaving the cabin for cooling),group D(after sterilization, the hatch was fully opened, and the cabin was dried for 15 min before leaving the cabin for cooling),with 150 experimental dressing packs per group. The visual inspection method and weighing method were used to judge the wet pack, and the incidence of wet packs of dressing packs in four cooling methods was compared, and the four groups of experimental dressing packs were repeatedly recycled and sterilized, and the number of times that cotton cloth can be used as packaging materials for repeated sterilization was recorded. In the same grouping method,600 dressing packs of the same specification were taken to measure the temperature of the outer surface of the dressing packs 30 min after the sterilization was completed, and the effects of the 4 cooling methods on their temperatures were compared. Results The visual inspection method showed that there was no visible wet pack. The weighing method showed that the incidence of wet packs in group B was significantly higher than that in group A,C and D(all P<0.05),and there was no difference between group A and group C and D(P>0.05).The temperature of the outer surface of dressing bags in group A was significantly lower than that in groups B,C and D(all P<0.05).The repeated sterilization times of dressing pack cotton in group A was higher than that in groups B,C and D(all P<0.05).Conclusion Immediately after the sterilization cooling out of the cabin is scientific,time-sav-ing,effective,and commonly used in the work of the cabin baked for a period of time and then out of the cabin cooling way will not only extend the cooling time to reduce efficiency, damage to the packaging materials, and the possibility of concealing the phenomenon of wet packs,so the establishment of scientific quality standards and oper-ating procedures to improve efficiency, ensure the quality of sterilization,to prevent the emergence of wet packets is essential.
