Further Discussion on the Impeachment Culture in the Western and Eastern Jin and Southern Dynasties
The impeachment culture had formed and tended to stabilize in the Western and Eastern Jin and Southern Dynasties.The discussion on the cultural mechanism of impeachment in this period is a crucial perspec-tive to deeply understand the supervision system,which can be explained from three aspects.The first is the spir-itual culture of impeachment.Emperors and officials all tried to promote the spirit of impeachment and create an intense atmosphere of the culture during this period.The second is the behavioral culture of impeachment.The emperors tried to regulate the impeachment behaviors of supervisory officials through institutional means for en-hancing the majesty and authority of imperial power and impeachment.The third is the incentive culture of im-peachment.The emperors advocated motivating supervisory officials from both material and emotional aspects,rec-ognized their position and identity and stimulated them to dare to impeach for better playing their supervision ef-fectiveness.Analyzing the impeachment culture from multiple dimensions is of great reference significance to the construction of socialist supervisory system with Chinese characteristics.
