Stereotyping and Fluidity:An Empirical Study of 100 Reports in Global People from Gender Perspective
To achieve global gender equality is one of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations in 2030.However,in the mass media that transmits the mainstream cultural heritage of the society,there are still problems such as gender bias and perpetuating gender dualism in the construction of social gender.This paper an-alyzed the contents and discourses of 100 texts of the latest character reports in the news website——globalpeo-ple.com.cn to explore the multiple ideologies behind the differences in the current portrayal of gender,how ideol-ogy manipulates micro-power to enforce the double oppression of men and women,and how this oppression mani-fests itself in media discourse.In view of this,the paper introduced the perspective of gender fluidity to break down the solidified gender relations and reshape the system of gender-diverse media production,thus providing insights for the promotion of gender equity in communication.
