E.E.Cummings poetry manifests three core characteristics:the trinity of poetry,painting and music,the cross-media re-interpretation of the original content,and the eventness of literature.The first two exhibit the internal performativity of poetry.The eventness of literature digs into the performativity as signified in the mode of poetry and its significance in terms of literary event.This paper,in light of cross-art and inter-art poetics,elabo-rates on the"performativity"of cummings poetry by discussing the first two core characteristics,and proves the realistic significance of cummings poetic mode from the perspective of literary eventness.
