Study on the Ecological Wisdom and Ecological Legal System in Ancient China:Enlightenment on the Construction of Harmonious Coexistence and Modernization between Humans and Nature
Ancient Chinese traditional culture has nurtured rich ecological wisdom and ecological legal systems.All the ideological propositions of traditional schools of thought such as Confucianism,Taoism,Mohism,Buddhism,as well as ancient literati,contain the theoretical core of harmonious development between human and nature.It is reflected in the holistic view of"harmony between heaven and humanity,coexistence between things and us",the frugal view of"the nature's law implies man's moderate utilization",and the universal loving view of"loving universally,and living endlessly".At the level of ecological legal system construction,since the Western Zhou Dynasty,most dynasties have focused on protecting the ecological environment through the establishment of specialized environmental protection institutions,the expansion of environmental protection elements and the implementation of strict laws and punishments.In the current era of building a modernized harmonious coexistence between human and nature,the essence of ancient Chinese ecological rule of law culture has important enlightening value.This means adhering to the holistic governance thinking to promote ecological governance modernization,implementing the concept of conservation and love of things to help green and sustainable development,and implementing the strictest rule of law to build a solid legal foundation for ecological governance.
