Application of Normal Temperature Asphalt Mixture Overlay Technology in Highway Maintenance
[Purposes]This paper aims to study the application effect of normal temperature asphalt mix-ture as structural layer mixture in low-grade highway maintenance.[Methods]Through the combination of indoor test and on-site construction,the preparation and optimization of raw materials,mix design,performance test and engineering application of the normal temperature asphalt mixture were studied.[Findings]The research results show that the production mix ratio of AC-13,a normal temperature as-phalt mixture,is"1#∶2#∶3#∶fine aggregate:mineral powder=38∶16∶10∶34∶2",with an oil stone ratio of 5.7%(composite modified emulsified asphalt 10%),a water consumption of 2.4%,and a curing agent of 2.0%.The molding strength,high temperature stability,low temperature crack resistance,and water stability of the mixture basically reach the level of ordinary hot mix asphalt mixture,meeting the require-ments of early opening of traffic.[Conclusions]The construction process of normal temperature asphalt mixture cover has been proposed,and the post construction inspection meets the standard requirements.As a new type of material,normal temperature asphalt mixture has good prospects for promotion and ap-plication in the maintenance of low grade highways.
