Evaluation of Urban Technological Innovation Capability in Henan Province Based on Factor Analysis and Cluster Analysis
[Purposes]This paper constructs a technical innovation capability evaluation index system for cities in Henan Province to provide corresponding recommendations to assist Henan Province in enhanc-ing its overall technical innovation capabilities.[Methods]By using factor analysis and cluster analysis methods,selecting 14 indicators including R&D personnel and financial expenditure for technology.From the perspectives of technology innovation input capability,technology innovation efficiency capabil-ity and technology innovation potential capability,this paper constructs an evaluation index system for the technological innovation capability of 18 cities in Henan Province,and evaluates the technological in-novation capabilities of the 18 cities in Henan Province.[Findings]By setting the factors of input innova-tion performance and innovation potential,using the ratio of the variance contribution rate and cumula-tive contribution rate of each factor as weights,a comprehensive score is obtained,which is used to rank the technological innovation capabilities of each city.Subsequently,through systematic clustering,the 18 cities in Henan Province are classified into five categories.[Conclusions]In conclusion,it is recom-mended that cities in Henan Province should increase policy support and encourage innovation and en-trepreneurship.There should be a focus on strengthening talent attraction and investment in technologi-cal innovation.Additionally,cities should enhance cooperation and promote industrial development among them.These approaches will help maximize the innovation potential of cities and better elevate the overall technological innovation capability of Henan Province.
