Research on the Development Prospect of Urban Rail Transit in Large and Medium Cities Based on International Comparison
[Purposes]To predict the construction trend of rail transit infrastructure in large and medium-sized cities in my country,and to better guide urban rail network planning.[Methods]Using the research method of city comparison,the organization mode of intercity traffic in the developed areas was summa-rized,and the development prospects of urban rail transit in large and medium-sized cities in China were analyzed.[Findings]The research results show that the spatial structure characteristics of urban regions are the core factors that determine the traffic mode.The premise of judging whether rail transit is needed in the prospect of large and medium-sized cities in my country is to clarify the spatial structure charac-teristics of the prospect.[Conclusions]There is a strong need for construction of urban rail transit in spe-cific areas:the larger the city size,the stronger the external radiation ability,and the stronger the neces-sity of urban rail transit construction;under the background of national land space planning,it is urgent to build the rail routes.
