Research on Photocatalytic Performance of Aluminum and Nitrogen Co-doped Bismuth Oxybromide
[Purposes]To address the issue of water pollution caused by the organic dye industry and de-grade the harmful substance rhodamine B(RhB),research has been conducted on aluminum-nitrogen co-doped bismuth oxybromide-based photocatalyst.[Methods]A series of aluminum or nitrogen or aluminum-nitrogen co-doped bismuth oxybromide(BiOBr)samples with different doping levels were synthesized using the hydrothermal synthesis method, and characterized by scanning electron micros-copy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry(UV-vis).Photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B was conducted under visible light irradiation.[Findings]The results showed that both aluminum and nitrogen doping alone or co-doping could enhance the photocatalytic performance of BiOBr,and the enhancement effect of aluminum-nitrogen co-doping was basically between that of aluminum and nitrogen doping alone.[Con-clusions]This indicates that the enhancement of photocatalytic performance between aluminum and ni-trogen is not a simple superposition, but there is an interaction relationship.Based on this,it is specu-lated that doping nitrogen can weaken the damage effect of doping aluminum on the BiOBr lattice.
