[Purposes]Rainwater on building roofs is one of the important sources of urban rainwater run-off.The analysis of its resource utilization and adaptability is conducive to the restoration and construc-tion of urban healthy water cycle and the protection and restoration of urban ecosystem.[Methods]This paper studies and then improves the existing building rainwater drainage system,intercepts and retains roof rainwater,and reduces the pressure of urban rainwater drainage system,so as to make it adapt to the purpose of rainwater resource utilization.[Findings]Compared with the traditional rainwater drainage sys-tem,planting roof,rainwater flower box and vertical greening can not only effectively eliminate the roof rain-water,increase the green area,keep warm,insulate heat,and improve people's living comfort,but also strengthen the collection and utilization of roof rainwater and reduce the load of municipal rainwater pipe net-work.[Conclusions]Resource utilization of rainwater on the building roofs is of great practical significance for alleviating the risk of urban waterlogging harm and improving the utilization rate of rainwater resources.
