Analysis of the Global Pattern of Electric Ship Industry from the Per-Spective of Patents
[Purposes]Through the perspective of patent,this study explores and understands the current status of the development of the global electric ship industry technology field and the layout of the indus-try entities,and provides reference for relevant decision-makers.[Methods]The patent pattern informa-tion such as the application trend,patent flow,and patent technology of the electric ship field in the world and China in the past 20 years are statistically analyzed.[Findings]China has developed rapidly in the field of electric ships and occupies a dominant position,but does not pay attention to the patent layout of overseas markets;countries such as the United States,Japan,and the republic of Korea still have certain strengths in this field and pay attention to the global layout;electric propulsion technology is the global electric ship research and development focus;due to the high barriers to entry in the industry,the current electric ship field in China is mainly dominated by universities and China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited.[Conclusions]China has strong scientific research strength in the field of electric ships,but it needs to pay attention to the patent layout in overseas markets in the future to enhance the voice in this field.At the same time,it is also necessary to layout the battery technology patents for elec-tric ships as soon as possible by taking advantage of the existing automobile battery technology advantages.
