Research on Innovation Efficiency Measurement of High-Tech Industry in Central China from Two-Stage Perspective
[Purposes]After years of continuous development, the high-tech industry in the central region has made significant progress in both its industrial scale and technical capabilities.Enhancing the effi-ciency of technological innovation will not only optimize the allocation of innovation resources and im-prove the overall innovation competitiveness of science and technology in the central region, but also strengthen China's strategic position in the global industrial chain.[Methods]Utilizing panel data from 2013 to 2022,this paper employs the DEA-Malmquist index method to assess the innovation efficiency of high-tech industries in six provinces in central China.[Findings]The findings indicate that:①Overall innovation efficiency within the high-tech industry in the central region is relatively low, with a need for improvement in two-stage technological innovation efficiency and scale efficiency,as well as shortcom-ings in technological progress.②The development pattern of innovation efficiency differs between stages:total factor productivity during technology research and development stage ranks Hubei>Anhui>Hu-nan>Jiangxi>Shanxi>Henan,while total factor productivity during technology transformation stage ranks Shanxi>Jiangxi>Anhui>Hubei>Hunan>Henan.[Conclusions]The conclusions drawn from this study offer new insights into the innovation efficiency of high-tech industries within central China and provide valuable inspiration for creating sustainable value.
