[Purposes]In order to promote patent conversion and improve the practicality of patents,China National Intellectual Property Administration has taken measures to implement the patent quality enhancement program.The current Patent Law of our country still has some deficiencies in the require-ments of patent application examination.[Methods]By studying the relevant contents of patent utility examination system,this paper will reveal the shortcomings of China's utility requirements,utility exami-nation contents and standards.And through analyzing the relevant cases of other countries,international experience can be learned.[Conclusions]Finally,some suggestions are put forward to optimize the pat-ent utility examination system in China,such as clarifying the utility requirements,enriching the utility examination contents and improving the inspection standards.
