The Spatiotemporal Evolution Characteristics and Prediction of Habitat Quality in Urumqi
[Purposes]This paper aims to evaluate the evolutionary characteristics of habitat quality in Urumqi.[Methods]The PLUS model and InVEST model were used to predict and evaluate the land use types and habitat quality in Urumqi.[Findings]①From 2000 to 2022,Urumqi experienced a trend of"four increases and two decreases",with a significant expansion trend of construction and unused land areas,a slight increase in forest and water areas, and a significant reduction in grassland and cultivated land areas.② The relationship between habitat quality and land use types is closely related in the re-search area.High value areas of habitat quality are mainly distributed in the Tianshan forest, while low value areas are mainly distributed in human activity gathering areas, such as the Gurbantunggut Desert, and the Gobi Desert in Dabancheng District.③During the research period, the overall habitat quality in Urumqi was relatively low and showed a continuous downward trend. The degraded areas were concen-trated around the urban area of Urumqi and along the Gobi Desert in Dabancheng District. In natural sce-narios,the habitat in Urumqi will continue to deteriorate by 2030,and there will be some improvement in ecological protection scenarios.[Conclusions]The research results have certain reference value for fu-ture ecological governance work and optimization of land spatial layout in Urumqi.
