Study on Road Performance of Loess Improved by Calcium Carbide Slag
[Purposes]China's"14th Five-Year Plan"clearly puts forward the requirement of resource utiliza-tion for bulk solid waste. At present, lime resources are scarce.Industrial solid waste carbide slag is rich in cal-cium oxide, magnesium oxide and other components, which can effectively replace lime. Therefore,it is of great significance to carry out research on the replacement of lime by carbide slag for the resource utilization of solid waste.[Methods]Taking the loess in Xi'an,Shaanxi province as the main research object, calcium carbide slag was mixed into the loess, and the road performance of calcium carbide slag and fly ash on the improved loess was comprehensively explored through compaction test, unlimited compressive strength test,CBR test and freeze-thaw cycle test.[Findings]The result shows that the 7 d unlimited compressive strength of 8%is 1.28 MPa and CBR is 179.2%,with excellent performance.[Conclusions]Combined with the comprehensive analysis of economic performance indexes, the optimal mixing ratio of cal-cium carbide slag stable soil is determined to be 8∶92.This proportion ensures the improvement of the perfor-mance and maximizes the effective utilization of industrial solid waste, which helps to alleviate the shortage of lime resources and promote the realization of circular economy and sustainable development.
