Study on Yb3+,Eu3+Co-doped BaSiO3 Up/Down Conversion Luminescence and Energy Transfer
[Purposes]The up-conversion luminescence properties of BaSiO₃ doped Yb3+,Eu3+were studied, which provided experimental basis for the development of fluorescent anti-counterfeiting tech-nology.[Methods]A series of BaSiO₃:Yb3+,Eu3+phosphors were synthesized by high-temperature solid-phase method. The physical structure and luminescence properties of the samples were characterized us-ing X-ray diffractometer(XRD)and steady state spectrometer.[Findings]The XRD results showed that Yb3+ions and Eu3+ions successfully entered the barium silicate lattice and had no effect on the matrix lat-tice.980 nm excitation showed that the emission peak of BaSiO₃:1%Yb3 phosphor was located at 483 nm,which was attributed to the cooperative luminescence of Yb3+dimer.Further excitation of BaSiO₃:Yb3+,Eu3+phosphor with a 980 nm laser resulted in simultaneous emission spectra of the Yb3+dimer at 483 nm and Eu3+ions at 575~705 nm,suggesting that the Yb3+dimer transfers its energy to the Eu3+ions through upconversion co-luminescence.The color coordinates are(0.498 9,0.350 5),and the color temperature is 1 840 k.[Conclusions]Therefore, the study of this material has potential applications in anti-counterfeiting,solar cells and lighting.
