Parametric Modeling System for Herringbone Gear Based on Secondary Development of SolidWorks
[Purposes]Herringbone gear is an important transmission part in engineering application,and its structure is relatively complex.In this study,the parametric modeling system of herringbone gear is designed through the secondary development of SolidWorks in order to improve the efficiency and accu-racy of herringbone gear modeling.[Methods]According to the principle of generating gear machining,the mathematical model of involute profile curve is established.Based on VB platform,SolidWorks is re-developed by calling API program.[Findings]The parametric modeling system of herringbone gear is es-tablished to realize the convenience of the establishment of herringbone gear model.[Conclusions]This study simplified the modeling process,improved drawing efficiency,and provided certain reference value for computer-aided design of involute gear components.
