Progress in Preparation and Modification of BiOBr Photocatalysts
[Purposes]In this study,the latest development of Bismuth bromide oxide(BiOBr)as a photo-catalyst was reviewed,and its crystal structure,photocatalytic mechanism,various preparation methods and efficient modification strategies were analyzed,and the effectiveness of modification methods was discussed.[Methods]Through literature review and analysis,the crystal structure and photocatalytic mechanism of BiOBr were introduced in detail.Different BiOBr preparation techniques and their advan-tages and disadvantages were compared and evaluated.Various modification methods,such as ion dop-ing,precious metal deposition,heterostructure construction,dye sensitization and composite with new materials,are discussed,and the ways to improve the photocatalytic activity of these methods are ana-lyzed.[Findings]The results showed that the microstructure of BiOBr and the photocatalytic performance could be improved by various preparation techniques.From the perspective of cost,preparation difficulty and stability,the optimal modification method is precious metal deposition method.[Conclusions]Al-though BiOBr has made remarkable progress as a photocatalyst,it still faces challenges such as high preparation cost and high photogenerated electron-hole recombination rate.Future research should focus on developing more simple and stable BiOBr preparation methods and further improving its photocatalytic performance and stability.In addition,sufficient attention should be paid to the recycling and reuse of BiOBr photocatalysts.
