Study on the Collapse Performance of Bell-Spigot Type Scaffold with Built-in Steel Cables
[Purposes]The collapse accidents of traditional bell-spigot type scaffold occur frequently. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a bell-spigot type scaffold with built-in steel cables, which im-proves the collapse resistance of the structure by adding steel cables with initial pre-tension.[Methods]In this paper,ANSYS software was used to analyze the progressive collapse resistance of four groups of bell-spigot type scaffold models.Three load conditions were set up in the study, and the performance of the four groups of models under these conditions was compared and analyzed.[Findings]It is found that the collapse re-sistance of the structure can not be effectively improved by only using the model with pre-tensioned cables in-stead of inclined rods(MJ-2).However,the model with pre-tensioned cables(MJ-3)and the model with in-clined rods replaced by pre-tensioned cables(MJ-4)can significantly improve the safety and stability of the structure after failure. However, under the load of 1.6 kN,the MJ-3 and MJ-4 models have a large upward dis-placement of the structure due to the excessive initial tension of the cable, which is unfavorable to the safety of the structure.[Conclusions]The addition of steel cables with initial pre-tension can significantly improve the collapse resistance of bell-spigot type scaffold. The subsequent research will further optimize the initial ten-sion parameters of steel cables, and analyze the influence of middle column failure and corner column failure.
