Analysis on the Fire Resistance of Prefabricated Multi-Cavity CFST Special-Shaped Columns
[Purposes]With the advancement of prefabricated structures in China,the multi-cavity concrete-filled steel tubular(CFST)columns have been applied and developed in new steel frame struc-ture building systems,and it is necessary to study the fire resistance of multi-cavity concrete-filled steel tube(CFST)Special-shaped special-shaped columns.[Methods]A finite element model of composite col-umns subjected to fire is developed and calibrated in ABAQUS software.The fire performance of T-shaped and L-shaped composite columns under two fire conditions are analyzed,including the tempera-ture development,fire resistance,axial force development,as well as failure modes.[Findings]The cross-sectional type and fire conditions of composite columns have a significant effect on the tempera-ture distribution.When the fire surface is reduced by half,the fire resistance of T-shaped and L-shaped columns increases by 240.5%and 95.8%,respectively.[Conclusions]The fire resistance of T-shaped and L-shaped composite columns under uniform fire is similar.The sectional shape has a significant ef-fect on the fire resistance of columns under non-uniform fire,and the fire resistance of T-shaped column is 44.2%higher than that of L-shaped column.
