Exploration of Urban Traffic Management Project Design Based on Right-in and Right-out Intersections
[Purposes]This study aims to solve the difficulties in designing traffic management facilities for right-in-right-out intersections and proposes a scientific, rational, and cost-effective design scheme to promote the smooth operation and sustainable development of urban traffic systems.[Methods]Through theoretical analysis and case studies, the characteristics and design challenges of right-in and right-out intersections were discussed, and the application effects of three schemes, namely,no signal lights, dedicated signal lights, and auxiliary warning designs, are compared.[Findings]Compared with ignoring traffic management or setting dedicated signal lights, the auxiliary warning design not only re-duces costs(only 18%of the total investment)but also significantly improves traffic efficiency and safety.[Conclusions]The auxiliary warning design scheme is an effective solution applicable to right-in-right-out intersections in modern urban traffic systems due to its high cost-effectiveness,good safety perfor-mance,and compliance with the requirements of energy conservation and environmental protection.
